Privacy policy
What BrainrotWar keeps, what it sends to our servers, who else touches it, and how to get rid of it. Written to be read rather than skipped.
1. Who we are
BrainrotWar is made by Gaadam Games, an independent game studio established in Italy. In this policy "we" and "us" mean Gaadam Games, and "the game" means BrainrotWar for iOS and Android.
We are the data controller for the personal data described here. That means we decide what is collected, why it is collected and how long it stays. Our backend provider and our advertising partners process it on our behalf, and only for the purposes below.
Everything privacy-related — questions, requests, complaints — goes to one address: support@gaadamgames.com.
This policy covers the game and this website. It does not cover what Apple, Google, Google Play Games or Google AdMob do with your data inside their own products. Those companies have their own privacy policies, and they apply whenever you use their services.
2. The short version
What we collect. A randomly generated player identifier, the display name you choose, your game progress and gameplay statistics, and technical data such as your IP address and device information. Purchases and ads run through Apple, Google and Google AdMob, which pass us the minimum needed to deliver and measure them.
What we never collect. Your name, email address, phone number or postal address — unless you write to us first. No precise location, no contacts, no photos, no camera, no microphone, no files.
How to delete it. Reset the game to clear everything stored on your device, or email support@gaadamgames.com to have your cloud profile and its saves removed. The details are in Deleting your data.
BrainrotWar is free to play, with advertising and optional purchases. The game shows rewarded videos you choose to watch and interstitial ads between runs, and it sells optional in-game items. You never have to pay, or watch an ad, to play.
That is the whole policy in four sentences. The rest of this page is the detail, section by section.
3. What the game stores on your device
The game keeps a small set of files in its own user data folder on your phone or tablet. Nothing in that folder leaves the device by itself:
- Your progress and settings — levels and chapters unlocked, your roster, coins, gems, upgrades, quests, streaks, and your language, sound and control options.
- A player identifier — a UUID, a long random string that the game creates the first time you play. It is not your name, not your email address and not your device's advertising ID. It is just a tag that lets our backend tell one player apart from another.
Uninstalling the game, or using the reset option inside it, deletes this data, including the identifier. A fresh install starts with a brand-new identifier, which is why you should read Deleting your data before you reset anything you care about.
4. What our servers process
Some features need a server: cloud saves, leaderboards, friends and the statistics we use to balance the game. For those we use Talo — the backend service at trytalo.com — which hosts player profiles, saves, leaderboards and telemetry on our behalf, on our instructions.
The game signs you in with the random identifier described above. There is no email address, no password and no account form to fill in before you play online.
When those features are in use, our backend processes:
- Your player identifier — the UUID, which is how the service recognises you between sessions and devices.
- Your display name — the nickname you pick, which other players can see on leaderboards and in friend lists.
- Your game progress — cloud saves, leaderboard scores and ranks, your friends list and the invite codes you use to add friends.
- Gameplay telemetry — events and statistics that describe how the game is played: progress through levels, session starts and ends, and economy events such as coins earned, gems spent and items unlocked.
- Technical data needed to run the service — your IP address and information about your device and platform, such as model, operating system, app version and language.
This is what makes your progress survive a new phone, keeps leaderboards and friends working, and shows us which levels are unfair or broken. We do not sell it.
5. Account linking
On Android you can link your Google Play Games account to BrainrotWar. It is optional: the game works, syncs and ranks you without it, using the anonymous identifier alone.
If you choose to link, Google shares three things with the game: your Google account identifier, your display name and your avatar. The game uses them to show who you are on leaderboards and in friend lists. Google handles that data under Google's own privacy policy; we receive it only because you asked for the link.
If you want a link removed from your profile, write to support@gaadamgames.com and we will take it off.
6. Purchases
BrainrotWar is free to play, and some items are optional purchases: coins, gems, bundles, characters and a one-off "no ads" option. Every purchase is handled by the store you installed the game from — Apple for the App Store on iOS, Google for Google Play on Android — under your store account.
We never receive your card number, bank details or billing address. The payment happens between you and the store.
What we do receive is a receipt from the store: product and transaction identifiers that say what was bought and when. We need those to deliver the purchase to your profile, to restore it if you reinstall the game or change device, and to answer refund and support requests.
Refunds, prices and payment problems are handled by the store, because the sale is between you and them. Purchase records are also kept for tax and accounting reasons — see How long we keep data. Purchases are also covered by our terms of use.
7. Advertising
The game shows ads through Google AdMob, in two forms: rewarded video ads, which you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game reward, and interstitial ads, which appear between runs.
To deliver, measure and — where permitted — personalise those ads, AdMob and its advertising partners may process:
- Device identifiers, including the advertising ID of your phone or tablet.
- Your IP address.
- Ad interaction data: which ads were shown, whether you watched them through, taps and skips.
Personalised advertising only happens where it is allowed. Where the law requires your consent — in the European Economic Area and the UK, for example — you are asked before ads are personalised, and you can change or withdraw that choice later by writing to support@gaadamgames.com. Refusing personalised ads does not lock you out of anything: you keep playing, and the ads you see are simply not personalised.
You can also opt out of ad personalisation in your device settings, whatever the game does. On iOS that is "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Tracking. On Android it is "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" in Settings, under Privacy, then Ads.
The game also sells a one-off "no ads" option, which removes the interstitial ads. Rewarded videos stay available, because they are optional and you decide when to watch them.
8. What we never collect
The game does not ask for, and we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number or postal address. The only way we get any of those is if you write to us first, and then we use them to answer you and nothing else.
- Your precise location. The game does not use GPS and does not ask for location permission. Advertising partners may use your IP address, which points at a rough region rather than a position.
- Your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or files. The game requests none of these permissions.
- Health data, biometrics, or a list of the other apps on your device.
We do not sell your personal data.
9. This website
gaadamgames.com is a plain static website. It sets no cookies, it runs no analytics, and it loads nothing from third parties: no fonts from Google, no tracking pixels, no social embeds, no video players. The fonts and the images you see are served from this domain.
There is no cookie banner here because there is nothing to consent to. The only thing a visit sends is the ordinary request your browser makes to any web server, including your IP address, which appears in the standard logs of the company that hosts these pages.
10. Legal bases
In the European Economic Area and the UK, the law requires us to have a legal basis for every use of your data described above. Ours are:
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — giving you the game and the things you ask for: cloud saves, leaderboards, friends, and the purchases you made.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — keeping the game and our backend secure and working, preventing fraud and abuse, fixing crashes and bugs, and looking at aggregated statistics to balance the game. We weigh these interests against your rights, and you can object to them at any time.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — personalised advertising where the law requires it, and anything else that asks for your permission first. You can withdraw consent whenever you like, and withdrawing it does not change anything that happened before.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR) — tax and accounting records for purchases.
11. How long we keep data
- On your device — until you reset the game or uninstall it. We cannot see or delete that copy for you; it goes when the app goes.
- In the cloud — until you ask us to delete it. Your saves, leaderboard entries, friends and display name stay while your profile exists, so you can come back to the game on a new phone.
- Telemetry — for a limited period, and never longer than 24 months. After that the events and statistics are deleted.
- Purchase records — for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
- Messages you send to support — for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up.
12. International transfers
Some of the companies that process data for us — our backend provider, the advertising network, the app stores — are based outside the European Economic Area, or run servers outside it. That means your data can be transferred to and processed in countries such as the United States.
When that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for transfers, for example the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. If you want more detail about the safeguards in place for a particular service, write to support@gaadamgames.com.
13. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have these rights over your personal data:
- Access — ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — have data that is wrong corrected. Your display name and most settings can be changed in the game itself.
- Erasure — have your data deleted.
- Restriction — ask us to pause our use of your data, for example while a request is being looked at.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format, or have it sent to another provider.
- Objection — object to processing that relies on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — change your mind about personalised advertising at any time.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Ours is the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali — garanteprivacy.it. If you live elsewhere in the EEA or the UK, you can go to your own authority instead.
To exercise any of these rights, write to support@gaadamgames.com. Tell us the display name you use in the game, and whether you linked Google Play Games, so we can find the right profile. We answer within 30 days.
14. Children
BrainrotWar is not directed at children under 13, or under the higher minimum age that applies in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age.
If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to support@gaadamgames.com and we will delete it.
For parents and guardians: the device's own parental controls can require approval for every purchase and restrict or reset the advertising identifier — Screen Time and Ask to Buy on iOS, Family Link and the Google Play purchase settings on Android. In the game itself, purchases are optional and rewarded ads are never forced on you.
15. Deleting your data
There are two copies of your data, and they are removed in different ways: the one on your device and the one in the cloud.
- Reset the game — the reset option inside the game clears your progress, your settings and the player identifier stored on that device. It cannot be undone, and progress that had not been synced to the cloud goes with it.
- Ask us to delete the cloud profile — email support@gaadamgames.com from any address you like, and tell us the display name you use in the game. We do not need an account, because there is none.
- We delete the cloud copy — the profile, its saves, its leaderboard entries, its friends and the display name attached to your player identifier are removed, and we reply to confirm. If you reinstall afterwards, the game starts fresh.
The same steps, with a template for the email, are on the support page.
16. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data described here: connections to our backend and to the ad and store services are encrypted in transit, and access to player data is limited to what the service, and the few people who run it, actually need.
No system is perfectly secure and we cannot promise absolute protection. If a breach ever put your data at risk, we would tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
17. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of the page. When the change matters — a new service, a new kind of data, a new purpose — we surface it in the game or on this page instead of quietly rewriting the text.
If you keep playing after a change takes effect, the updated policy applies. If you disagree with it, you can stop playing and ask us to delete your data at any time.
18. Contact
One address handles everything privacy-related: support@gaadamgames.com. Questions about this policy, access and deletion requests, complaints, and anything you think we got wrong — write to us and a human answers.
We reply to privacy requests within 30 days. Include the display name you use in the game, and whether you linked Google Play Games, so we can find the right profile.
